About Your Facilitator
Why are you teaching at RAD Summit?
”After practicing user experience design for over 10 years, I am still searching for my community. Other conferences don’t cut it and I am very excited to have found RAD Summit. The outdoors is the right place to have a conversation about trust and other important topics; it puts us all in the right frame of mind to approach design thoughtfully, with presence.”
What’s your craziest camping or outdoor experience?
”Native Americans from the Pacific Northwest are known to have more than 50 words for snow. Even though I do not enjoy cold weather, I dug out and slept in a snow cave on Mt. Hood every year for nine years to maintain a search and rescue certification. One, particularly wet and heavy year (perhaps “matsaaruti”), I woke up to a cave roof that had sunken much closer to my face than I was comfortable with. I narrowly avoided a panic attack crawling out and am still fairly claustrophobic.”
